1. Who We Are

Levia is a sourdough baking companion app that helps users track sourdough starters, plan recipes, manage bake timelines, and learn baking techniques.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (the password is never stored in plain text — it is hashed and managed by our authentication provider). You may optionally provide a display name.
- User content: Sourdough starters, recipes, bake logs, feeding history, reminders, calculator settings, and any other data you create within the App.
- Feedback: If you submit feedback through the App, we collect the message content, optional contact email, and basic context such as the screen you were on.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and app information: Device model, operating system version, app version, and platform (iOS or Android).
- Approximate location:With your permission, the App accesses your device’s approximate location to estimate the ambient temperature near you. This information is used solely to provide more accurate starter fermentation guidance and is not stored on our servers or shared beyond what is necessary to retrieve weather data. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; the App remains functional without it.
- Usage analytics: We collect anonymized data about how features are used (for example, which screens are visited, which actions are taken) to understand product engagement and improve the experience.
- Crash and error reports: When the App crashes or encounters an error, technical details (stack trace, device state, app version) are automatically reported to help us fix bugs. These reports may include your user ID but do not include personal user content.
2.3 Purchase information
If you subscribe to Levia Pro, your purchase is processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your payment card details. We do receive — through our subscription management provider — confirmation of your subscription status, plan type, renewal date, and a transaction identifier.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the App’s features (e.g., syncing your starters and recipes across devices)
- Authenticate you and secure your account
- Personalize your experience (e.g., temperature-aware feeding suggestions)
- Process subscription purchases and manage entitlements
- Send local notifications you have explicitly enabled (e.g., feeding reminders, bake timers)
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, or your feedback submissions
- Diagnose technical issues, prevent fraud, and improve App performance
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for cross-app advertising or targeted advertising.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share information only with the third-party service providers that power the App. Each provider is bound by their own privacy practices and processes data on our behalf.

5. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your associated data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., tax records for purchases).
- Anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely.
- Crash reports are retained for up to 90 days.
- Purchase records are retained for the duration required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update inaccurate information directly within the App or by contacting us.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us, or by using the in-app account deletion feature.
- Portability: Request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Withdrawal of consent: Revoke previously granted permissions (e.g., location, notifications) at any time in your device settings.
- Objection / Restriction: Object to or request restriction of certain processing activities.

7. Children's Privacy
Levia is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, hashed passwords, and access controls on our backend infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your data.
9. International Data Transfers
Levia is operated from Singapore. Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own (including the United States and the European Union, depending on the locations of our service providers). Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect data transferred internationally.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
